CATT Lab Awarded Battelle Memorial Institute ContractThe Center for Advanced Transportation Technology Laboratory was recently awarded a contract to help evaluate the Federal Highway Administration’s multi-million dollar Integrated Corridor Management Initiative Demonstration Projects in San Diego and Houston. The CATT Lab is an integral part of a larger team that includes Battelle and URS. The CATT Laboratory will be independently analyzing data and traffic management decision support systems outputs from these demonstration sites. All data will be integrated into the CATT Lab’s multi-state, multi-modal data fusion engine. This fusion engine is already being used by several East Coast States including North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia. The CATT Lab’s systems integration expertise will be leveraged to evaluate data schemas, standardization methods, and fusion methods to provide valuable feedback to the Federal Highway Administration and the Demonstration Sites on how effective their systems are and to provide feedback on how they could be improved in the future. About the CATT Lab The Center for Advanced Transportation Technology Laboratory (CATT Lab) in the A. James Clark School of Engineering Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, supports National, State, and local efforts to provide safe and efficient transportation systems through improved operations and management by means of research and development, technology implementation, training and education. The CATT Lab is supported by an interdisciplinary staff of graduate and undergraduate student researchers, affiliated faculty of the Department of Civil Engineering, and a permanent team of ITS professionals.
