On Thursday, November 6, 2014 the NTC@Maryland hosted the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) from Montgomery County to transfer knowledge from past and ongoing transportation planning and modeling research at UMD. NTC@Maryland Director, Dr. Lei Zhang and the National Center for Smart Growth Transportation Policy Research Director, Dr. Fred Ducca presented the advances in transportation analysis and modeling tools at UMD and discussed how these tools may help Montgomery County meet its various planning needs. The event not only promoted the expertise of the NTC@Maryland but also allowed for the Planning Commission to ask questions and make recommendations for modifying the existing modeling tools to better meet the needs of local government agencies. NTC@Maryland looks forward to building on the collaborative relationship between UMD and the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
